My best friend and I hosted her twin sister’s Bachelorette party in Toronto a few months back. The bride to be, Jackie, made it clear that she wanted it to be a classy affair. That meant no D#$% straws or anything vulgar that most people would associate with a bachelorette party (including those tacky feather boas). I will let the photos speak for themselves, as I’m probably biased on how beautiful this turned out. But, I thought we did a fabulous job of creating something fun, girly and classy!
The cupcakes and cake I made, I just did a fun lattice design on the cupcakes and used food coloring for the icing to be bright pink. As for the cake, just kept it simple and added a gold ribbon and the cake topper mentioned above from Etsy.
The paper straws, napkins and plates were all from Target. The “Time to drink champagne and dance on the table” print was also from Etsy. It was a print that I just taped to an existing photo that was on the hotel wall.
We hung out at our hotel in downtown Toronto, had drinks, got ready together and played a little game that Jenn, Jackie’s twin put together. She asked Jackie’s Fiance a set of questions and had her guess what the answer was. It was pretty funny to hear how he answered the questions and see Jackie’s reaction. It gave us a glimpse into the more personal side of their relationship, and it was really cute to see her blush and giggle about all the adorable things he said. Jenn also asked all of us to answer some questions about Jackie. It was a great little trivia game to start the night!
After the pre-drinks and catch up at the hotel we went to a cool little restaurant called The Sultan’s Tent that had live belly dancing shows. It was the perfect place to chat, drink, eat good food and hang out!
I had everyone at the party kiss and sign the border of a white piece of paper so that Jackie could put a picture of the night in the middle and frame as a keepsake of the night. Her sister, Jenn had everyone sign a book and give love advice. We actually ran into a large group of guys that have been on various seasons of The Bachelor as well, oddly enough. We had them sign the advice book and they made light of the situation by saying how they weren’t the best people to ask for LOVE advice, given their multiple attempts at it on the show, but that they’d sign it anyhow!
After dinner, we went across the street to Pravda vodka bar, had caviar and really great vodka! Everyone was commenting on how we didn’t look like a Bachelorette party, mission accomplished! We were home before midnight, in our pj’s being silly and catching up some more. Definitely the classiest Bachelorette I’ve ever been to.
Hope it was everything Jackie dreamed of and more! She’s such a wonderful person and she deserved the best night out with her closest girlfriends before her big day.
I truly admire you for the woman you are and all that you’ve accomplished. I know you’ll be an amazing wife, Matt’s a lucky man to have found you!
LOVE YOU JACKIE.
Ps. Here’s a fun little side by side picture of us from 6 years ago to now! We thought it would be cute to recreate an old photo.
