I LOVE HALLOWEEN! I always knew that I loved holidays, but now that I have a kid it’s completely out of control. I enjoy passing along traditions with my family and creating our own. I love to give and holidays are a time where you share and give to others, which just makes me happy. So here are some of my favorite moments of this year’s Halloween with my family.
No, I don’t mean in costumes, but in festive fall or Halloween like attire (I’m talking monster hoodies, shirts with skulls and ghosts, etc). I bought Greyson some adorable shirts with skulls, mummies and ghosts to wear leading up to Halloween. It was so much fun being festive and in the Halloween “spirit” all month long!
I must confess, my favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus and it has always been my all time favorite. Funny, I told my now husband this on one of our first dates (we started dating around Halloween) and he proudly told me he was in the movie. I kid you not, he told this story to me like he was the lead in the movie… Only for me to find out he had a 5 second role!!! But I swear I got him because I told him that was my favorite movie, and he got me because I thought he was the lead!! No really… haha
So, every Halloween we are subjected to rewinding and re-watching my husband’s 5 second role. Nonetheless, I still love this movie and it’s always on in our house around Halloween. It’s a family tradition now!
I had my little guy paint 3 pumpkins for me all white and then I went ahead and styled them up while he was napping. He had so much fun getting all messy painting the “Pumpas”, as he calls them. I made sure to set aside the big pumpkin so he could carve that with his dad when he got home from work.
I went with a little Kate Spade inspired pumpkin look with the black and white paint with polka dots and stripes and spray painted the stems gold. I added some orange Tory Burch candles to the shelf to bring in a pop of color.
These are all things we did leading up to Halloween. If you follow my Instagram you’ll have already seen what we dressed up as yesterday for my husbands work party at CAA. We’re switching it up a little tonight for trick or treating so stay tuned for my post and check out my Instagram page to see Greyson’s costume.
